In the Russian capital, the Federal Security Service detained two people who were planning a military coup in Belarus, TASS reports.
According to the FSB, one of them, Yuri Zyankovich, visited Poland and the United States before arriving in Moscow. He has dual citizenship. The man was going to meet with representatives of the Armed Forces in Belarus in order to involve them in the coup planned for May 9, during the Victory Parade. FSB reports:
“After documenting the meeting, the conspirators were detained by Russian security agencies and handed over to their Belarusian partners.”
Alexander Lukashenko, the President of Belarus, previously announced a planned attempt on his life and his family members. He believes that the action was allegedly approved by the highest ranks of the United States. Russian President Vladimir Putin even raised this issue in a conversation with American President Joe Biden, but he declined to answer.
