A woman from New Jersey in the US became enraged and began tearing down Greek flags in a restaurant, shouting “ohFree Palestine, this is genocide.”
She even addressed the restaurant workers, telling them that they should be ashamed of their heritage, although she had nothing against Jews.
The employees stared at her in horror, and she said aggressively: “What are you looking at (if she were in Greece, she would definitely insert the word “ρε”, which has no equivalent in English, but is implied by its intensity)?” After this tirade, she understood from the explanations (which the staff had difficulty giving, since this lady was hard of hearing) that The flags are not Israeli, but Greek.
The incident occurred in Montclair, New Jersey, near a Greek restaurant. Realizing her mistake, the woman apologized and said that she was ashamed.
Unfortunately, the lack of knowledge of American citizens about where other countries are, who their people are, what their history is, and what their flags are is very alarming since they live in a country that influences world events.
