A young Azerbaijani citizen accused of transporting illegal immigrants managed to escape from the investigator’s office in Rhodes.
According to local reports, the accused was arrested yesterday (10/10) in Simi, in the Marathon area, for transporting twenty illegal immigrants. From there he was taken today to the prosecutor's office, and then to a regular investigator to testify. After being notified that he faced up to 200 years of maximum security (10 years for each client), the young smuggler “chose freedom.”
It is worth noting that, despite the successful escape, the coast guard and members of the judicial police were able to catch the Azerbaijani and handcuffed him again near the Ethniki Trapeza branch of the city of Rhodes.
