Criminals stole almost one and a half tons of copper cable


The Killeler Police Department began investigating a series of thefts from ΔΕΔΔΗΕ substations.

As part of the investigation, a criminal case has been opened about aggravated theft against two local residents and them for now unknown accomplice. It was established that between September 20 and August 10, 2024, a total of 20 thefts were committed in the Killeler municipality and its rural areas. The criminals acted according to a pre-developed plan, using tools and a car to escape.

As a result, a total of 1,430 kilograms of copper (copper cables with a total length of 309 meters), 11 metal objects and mechanisms, as well as a coin acceptor with an unknown amount of money were stolen.

The case has been transferred to the Larisa criminal prosecutor, and the preliminary investigation is being carried out by the Killeler police department.
