While the prolonged heat continues, it is simply impossible to survive without an air conditioner or at least a fan. But what about electricity consumption? How much does each device “eat” per hour of operation?
One thing is for sure: Electricity bill will be higher in July both due to rising electricity tariffs and more active use of electrical appliances. A fan, naturally, “eats” less than an air conditioner, and although its efficiency is noticeably lower, it still provides a more pleasant atmosphere.
Prices are taken from the DEN calculation tool and are 14 cents per kilowatt-hour.
How much electricity does a fan “burn”:
- A 60 watt ceiling fan running at full power for 10 hours costs €0.084 per day and €2.52 per month.
- A 45 watt floor fan running at full power for 10 hours a day consumes €0.063 per 10 hours and €3.92 per month.
(At half power, consumption is 2 times less)
How much does an air conditioner “burn” per hour and per day (month 30 days)
- Air conditioner 9,000 BTU without inverter 0.21 EUR per hour / per 24 hours 5.04 EUR / per month 151.2 EUR
- Air conditioner 12,000 BTU without inverter 0.29 euro per hour / per 24 hours 6.96 euro / per month 3208.8 euro
- Air conditioner 18,000 BTU without inverter 0.43 euro per hour / per 24 hours 10.32 euro / per month 309.6.
- Air conditioner 24,000 BTU without inverter 0.57 euro per hour / for 24 hours 13.68 euro / for a month 410 euro.
- Air conditioner 9.000 BTU with inverter 0.18 euro per hour / per 24 hours 4.32 euro / per month 129.6
- Air conditioner 12,000 BTU with inverter 0.24 euro per hour / per 24 hours 5.76 euro / per month 172.8 euro.
- Air conditioner 18,000 BTU with inverter 0.36 euro per hour / per 24 hours 8.64 euro / per month 259.2 euro
- Air conditioner 24,000 BTU with inverter 0.48 euro per hour / for 24 hours 11.52 euro / per month 345.6 euro
