Hungarian PM arrives in Beijing to continue "peace mission" (video)

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has arrived for talks with China's leader, saying he has arrived in Beijing to continue his “peace mission.”

His press secretary reported this on the night of Monday, July 8. He specified that Orban was going to hold talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing, and the politician himself stated that his visit was a continuation of the “peace mission” to diplomatically resolve the war in Ukraine.

Earlier, Peter Szijjarto, the Hungarian Foreign Minister, published a post on Sunday announcing peace steps in Ukraine this week, saying:

“Sunday, the first week of the Hungarian presidency of the Union and the government session at the same time has ended. Now everyone can be sure that the next six months will be a mission of peace, in order to finally bring peace to our region. The mission of peace continues and even becomes stronger, so I ask European politicians who support war, fasten your seat belts and stay tuned next week.”

Let us recall that the Hungarian Prime Minister on July 2 I visited Kyiv for the first time since the beginning of the war in Ukraine. There he proposed to the country's president, Volodymyr Zelensky, to consider the possibility of a temporary ceasefire. After that, Orban went to Moscow to meet with Putin.
