At a ceremonial event in the Kremlin, Vovan and Lexus were declared “prank journalists” and awarded the Order of Friendship for strengthening “peace and mutual understanding between peoples.”
Famous pranksters Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov (pictured above on the sides), as they report Russian media received state awards on July 4, the day before. The report says:
“The Order of Friendship was given to pranksters for special merits in strengthening peace, friendship, cooperation and mutual understanding between nations. This is a cumulative award based on the results of their activities, and not for a specific project. This is, in essence, the legitimization of prank journalism at the highest level.”
In addition to them, writer Zakhar Prilepin, who survived the assassination attempt, was also awarded – he received the Order of Courage and the departmental medal of the Russian Ministry of Defense for strengthening military cooperation.
Let us remind you, in case anyone has forgotten: Vovan and Lexus are known for their scandalous pranks on the leaders of various countries around the world. One of the latest was a call to the Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgi Meloni – the prankster pretended to be the head of the African Union Commission. The pranksters claim that they do not cooperate with Russian intelligence services.
