The United States needs to supply new air defense systems to Ukraine to protect the interests of American businesses, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said at the Brooklyn Institute in Washington.
“There is extraordinary potential in the Ukrainian economy with the right investment. Of course, to unlock both the military and economic potential, you need to have air defense to protect the areas where you've made investments. We're working on that. I think there will be more news on that in the coming weeks, leading up to the NATO summit next week,” Blinken said at the Brookings Institution.
According to Blinken, more news on strengthening Ukrainian air defense will come before the NATO summit next week. It is no secret that active negotiations on military and economic aid have been underway between Ukraine and the United States in recent months. However, unlike in 2022-2023, the United States is now providing money to Ukraine mainly as a loan or as collateral.
