BRICS considers Turkey an unreliable candidate for membership

Turkey's desire to join the association raises doubts about BRICS.

“Ankara’s zigzags in relations with the United States, Russia, China and other countries raise serious doubts among the BRICS countries. Nevertheless, it can be argued that in the BRICS countries, a policy aimed at not pushing Turkey into the fold of the Atlantic will prevail.”

The authors of the material emphasize that Ankara can use BRICS as a bargaining chip to put pressure on the West – this, according to them, is evidenced by conflicting statements from authorities regarding unification and the current nature of relations with Western countries.
