Russia put the complex on combat duty "Yars"

Mobile installations of complexes “Yars” Novosibirsk formation of the Strategic Missile Forces (Strategic Missile Forces) entered combat patrol routes during the exercise, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Monday, the state news agency TASS reported.

Fifty mobile systems are on patrol across vast Siberia.

“Crews of the Yars mobile ground-based missile systems make marches up to 100 kilometers long, carry out activities to equip field positions with engineering equipment, organize camouflage and combat outposts,” – the military said.

According to the department, military personnel will also practice countering sabotage and reconnaissance groups.

At the same time, on October 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezheskian in Turkmenistan.

There is no word on the agenda for the talks between the two leaders.

Last month, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced changes to Moscow's nuclear doctrine, defining the conditions under which Russia could use nuclear weapons.

They now include the ability use of nuclear weapons against non-nuclear states supported by nuclear powersand attacks on Russia's allies.

Reference: The RS-24 Yars missile system (NATO designation SS-29), with a firing range of up to 12,000 km and accuracy of up to 100 meters, is a ground-based variant of the Russian Bulava SLBM.
