The fight against the fire that broke out at the warehouse of the Municipality of Athens in Kolonos on the night of October 8 continues.
A fire rages in an open warehouse in a waste transfer area. 15 firefighters in 5 vehicles arrived to extinguish the fire. The fire occurred shortly after 3:30 a.m. at the intersection of Mitrodorou Street and Athens Avenue.
The fire started under unknown circumstances in a place where there was mainly wood (furniture, etc.) and quickly grew, “raising” thick smoke that engulfed the area.

In the same area, not far from the fire site, there are divisions of large companies and car dealerships; an “alarm” was raised about this to the authorities, who had an evacuation plan ready.
Initially, 15 firefighters in 5 vehicles arrived on the scene, but soon reinforcements, additional people, water tankers and fire equipment arrived. Cleaners from the Municipality of Athens removed a garbage truck from inside, and police blocked access from Athens Avenue.
