After the Indian summer, cold weather awaits us

During this week, mini-summer is expected with air temperatures of +30°C. This will make October one of the warmest months of the year.

However, according to the forecast of EMY director Thodoris Kolidas, despite the fact that the “Indian summer” will last until Saturday, from Sunday evening 10/13 a noticeable change will begin. The temperature will begin to drop rapidly.

In his message, Mr. Kolidas notes that October is a month of transition, a harbinger of winter. “These days are known as Indian summer or summer of Ag. Dimitrios, and others like that phenomena are forecast these days also in many regions of Europe“, he emphasizes.

He also adds that sometimes sunny days come earlier, like this year, since the period of dry and rainless weather depends on the position of the barometric maximum (anticyclone) covering our region.
