Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov reported that the country's Defense Ministry has developed and presented a program for its own missile production.

The head of the department noted: “We expect our partners to say what part of our missile production capabilities they are ready to support.” Umerov said that The partners have already given verbal consent to finance the projectand a final decision is expected in the near future. He also assured that everything possible is being done to ensure that the missile program was brought closer to the drone programwhich already exists in Ukraine.

Earlier, Alexander Kamyshin, the former head of Ukroboronprom, said that Ukraine has begun producing its own 155mm artillery shells. The truth of the details, as writes The publication “Strana” does not disclose:

“I can't say much, but we have started our own production of 155mm artillery shells.”

By the end of 2024, Ukraine also plans to produce one million drones. This includes everything from simple single-action strike and surveillance drones to long-range UAVs, capable of attacking targets deep inside Russia at a distance of up to 2,000 kilometers.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine needs long-range capabilities – just Over the course of a week, the Russian Federation used more than 900 aerial bombs, 400 UAVs and 30 missiles.

Over the first 8 months of this year, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has codified and approved for use in the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine twice as many models of weapons and military equipment of Ukrainian production than in the entire last year. In 2023, this figure was more than 200 samples of domestic military equipment.

Some Ukrainian-made weapons are unique in their characteristics, which is proven by the results of their use in combat conditions. For example, Ukraine is a world leader in some drone models.

Let us recall that during the celebrations on the occasion of Independence Day on August 24, Zelensky announced about the first successful combat use of the Ukrainian drone missile “Palyanitsa”. And during a press conference at the forum “Ukraine 2024. Independence” on August 27, the president said that Ukraine for the first time, a domestically produced ballistic missile was successfully tested. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine also codified and approved for use in the troops defensive fragmentation grenade – an analogue of the Soviet F-1.
