Students are being evicted in Kazan ahead of the BRICS summit

Kazan students were asked to vacate their dormitories, taking their personal belongings with them.

How writes Bloomberg, the eviction is happening for the sake of the guests of the BRICS forum, including the Taliban. The order for eviction was signed by the management of several universities. Students, even those from other cities, were prohibited from being on the territory of the dormitories.

The BRICS summit will be held in Kazan from October 22 to 24, and will be attended by the heads of more than 25 states. The Taliban from Afghanistan, banned in Russia, have also applied to participate.

The Afghan Taliban sent Moscow a written application to participate in the upcoming BRICS summit in October. The application was confirmed by the head of the Russian business center in Afghanistan, Rustam Khabibullin:

“The government of Afghanistan has submitted a written application for the participation of the country's top leadership in the BRICS summit, which will be held in Kazan on October 22-24.”

The letter is addressed to the Russian President's aide Yuri Ushakov and signed by the acting Minister of Industry and Trade of Afghanistan Nuriddin Azizi. It notes the importance of the participation of Afghan authorities in the summit.

In early September, Taliban representatives visited the IX Eastern Economic Forum, which was held in Vladivostok. A member of the delegation, an employee of the Chamber of Commerce of Afghanistan, Mohammed Yonnaz Hossein, spoke about the terrorist movement's plans to establish contacts with Russian investors:

“I want to discuss the possibility of businessmen from our countries working together. Afghanistan is safe: we have no corruption, no illegal substances, and our agriculture is well developed. The situation is favorable, so I would like Russian businessmen to operate in Afghanistan.”
