Aggressive “Boris” flooded Central Europe (video)


Thousands of people have been evacuated, at least six people in three countries have died as a result of the elements – catastrophic floods in Central Europe. In Poland, it is a real disaster. There, a dam has burst, and the torrent of water is sweeping away everything in its path.

How tells Euronews, Storm Boris brought heavy rain and hurricane-force winds to Europe. In some areas Czech Republic The floods are being called the worst in a hundred years. Several thousand people have been evacuated in eastern Czech Moravia, and 50,000 homes are without electricity. In some areas of the country, three months' worth of rainfall fell in three days. In Prague, emergency protective structures are being erected in case rivers overflow their banks.

Donald Tusk, Prime Minister Polandpersonally addressed the residents of the regions affected by the bad weather. He called on them not to refuse evacuation if it was announced and to cooperate with rescuers.

The small Polish town of Stronie Śląski in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship was effectively underwater after a dam on the Morawka River was damaged by flooding.

Heavy rains and a drop in temperatures are expected in Greece. A cold snap is expected to occur in the next few days, marking the end of a long period of high temperatures that has lasted more than three months. National Meteorological Service Director Thodoris Kolidas says:

“For the first time in a long time, the forecast temperatures will be below normal. We are used to above normal temperatures, but the situation is changing to remind us what autumn weather should be like.”

He predicts that Greece will see “a lot of rain” in the near future.
