Poltava hit: rescue operations completed, 55 people killed, 328 injured (video)


The clearing of rubble and the search for victims following the Russian attack on Poltava on September 3 have been completed.

Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine officially announced September 5, data on victims:

“Poltava. Emergency rescue operations at the site of the missile strike on the educational institution in Poltava have been completed. 55 people were killed, 328 were injured. At present, specialists are identifying the recovered bodies.”

On September 3, Russians attacked Poltava with Iskander-M ballistic missiles. In addition to the training center, three apartment buildings, five private homes and an office building were damaged in the city.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview NBC News that the rockets that hit the military school flew for three minutes, killing or injuring many people as they descended into the shelter:

“It was a missile strike. A calculated strike. Now there is information that the missile flew for about 3 minutes. People did not have time to go down to the bomb shelter. Now it is believed that many of them were wounded or killed when they went down to the bomb shelter, that is, people reacted quickly enough, but they did not manage to save themselves.”
