Life after death: it is quite real

Reviving people after death may become a reality, writes The Telegraph newspaper, citing the opinion of scientists.

In the future, resuscitation techniques may become more effective, and the conventional wisdom about death may be radically outdated, says Sam Parnia, a physician and researcher at New York University Medical Center.

The doctor views death not as a final event, but as a “reversible condition” he says. In his book, Lucid Dying, Parnia shares the results of 30 to 30 years of research that rethinks the boundaries of life and death. The scientist is confident that cardiac arrest or cessation of brain activity is not the end at all, but only a process that, with the right approach, can be reversed.

Parnia and his colleagues, The Telegraph writes, have made “impressive advances” in resuscitating patients, doubling the survival rate after cardiac arrest compared to the US average.

The scientist claims that the brain and other organs remain viable for several hours and even days after deathand scientific achievements in recent years give reason to believe that returning to life will become possible not only for animals, but also for people.

As an example, Parnia cites studies where the brain of a pig remained active 14 hours after death. He also mentions cases where people who were in a state of hypothermia were brought back to life many hours after cardiac arrest, thanks to advanced technology and equipment.

Cryonics remains at the theoretical level for now, but Parnia believes that Cooling actually protects the body and increases the chances of successful recovery..

But despite his optimism, the researcher admits that modern medicine is not always ready for such radical changes – this is due to hospital overload and lack of resources. However, Parnia believes that in the future, resuscitation and life restoration methods will become more effective and accessible, and death will no longer be an inevitable end.

He is confident that over time, humanity will change its attitude towards death, and what today seems like science fiction in terms of reviving dead people will become common medical practice.
