Accident in Chania: Car fell from 10-meter cliff

A serious traffic accident occurred in Chania: a car fell off a cliff in the Malaxa area.

Four fire engines and eight firefighters arrived at the scene and began to extricate the driver. He was taken to hospital where doctors are trying to determine the extent of his injuries.

According to zarpanews.gr, he is an elderly Greek man, about 80 years old, who was taken conscious by ambulance and transferred to the General Hospital of Chania.

The accident occurred at around 09:30 am when, for unknown reasons, the driver lost control of his car, which swerved and fell off a cliff in the Keramia area, on the road behind the hospital in Kontopoulos in Malaxa.
