Residents of Volos, who have never encountered such a phenomenon before, are very concerned. As local media reports, A preliminary investigation has been launched into the dead fish to determine the cause of the unprecedented incident.

The investigation, under the supervision of the prosecutor's office, will be carried out in special laboratories, samples will be taken from both the dead fish and the mouth of Lake Karla in Volos to establish the cause of death. The possibility of the fish ingesting any substance will also be studied.

In addition, the water quality will be checked. The study will be carried out along the entire Pagasitikos coastline where dead fish were found – in the harbours of Volos, Anavros, Alykes and N. Anchialos.
