Two crew members suffered turbulence on Corfu-London flight, plane made emergency landing


Two cabin crew on an EasyJet flight from Corfu to London Gatwick were injured by turbulence.

The incident occurred on Monday, August 19. Having got into a zone of strong turbulence in Italian airspace, the plane was forced to land in Rome.

According to British media, The British airline's Airbus A320 took off from Corfu Airport at midday on Monday, bound for GatwickOn board was 181 passengersJust 20 minutes after takeoff, the plane hit turbulence while flying at 485 mph at 28,000 feet. How reports CNNi, an EasyJet spokesman said:

“The aircraft was unharmed. Flight EZY8120, en route from Corfu to London on 19 August, experienced turbulence which unfortunately resulted in two cabin crew being injured. As a result, the captain decided to land in Rome where the crew received medical attention. The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is easyJet’s top priority and our pilots are trained to deal with turbulence related incidents. The aircraft landed safely in Rome where those injured were supported in the terminal and arrangements were made to replace the crew and aircraft for the flight to London Gatwick.”

The company representative did not specify whether the injured crew members were able to return to Gatwick along with the rest of the passengers.
