Two bear cubs killed in road accident in Florin

Two bear cubs were left lying on the road after a collision with a car in Florina.

They found dead by passing drivers early Monday morning at the Ammochori junction on the Florina-Kozani national road. The Arcturus team, which was called immediately, discovered that they were two small bear cubs, born this year. Unfortunately, they had died.

And a few dozen meters away, a mother bear anxiously watched the people. The mother probably didn't realize what had happened to her cubs and was waiting for the moment when she could drive them off the road.

Arktouros spokesman Panos Stefanou told APE-MPE that “the two dead cubs were immediately removed from the scene to avoid further interaction with the mother, who refused to leave the scene without them.
