A knife attack has been committed at a refugee centre in the Berlin district of Marzahn. Seven people were injured, and a 21-year-old suspect has been detained.

In addition to the German citizens – a security guard and a visitor – five Moldovan citizens were injured, including a 15-year-old teenager living in the center. Some received cuts. The young Algerian suspect in the attack was also wounded. Law enforcement officials have not yet reported the reasons for the crime. According to the preliminary investigation, before the attack, the young man had an argument with a guest outside the center and hit the 38-year-old man. The 62-year-old security guard tried to stop the conflict and was also hit. The State Office for Refugees said that the suspect in the attack was facing deportation.
It is worth noting that several attacks have been reported in Berlin in the last few days, some involving knives. Nancy Feser, Germany's interior minister, wants to tighten gun laws and ban certain types of knives.
