A 79-year-old passenger died on Tuesday 13/08 at midday on a ferry that was following a scheduled route from Italy to Igoumenitsa.
The captain of the passenger ship informed the Corfu port administration about a Bulgarian citizen who had lost consciousness, and in order to disembark the unfortunate man, the ship sailed to the port.
As ERT reports, The man was given first aid by private doctors and then transported by ambulance to Corfu General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
From the Central Authority of the Port of Corfu, which is conducting the preliminary investigation, An order was received to perform an autopsy.
