Neo-Nazis claim responsibility for Farion's murder

Responsibility for the murder of Irina Farion was claimed by an ultra-right organization, which the FSB had previously accused of attempting to assassinate Solovyov and Simonyan.

A video of what is allegedly the moment of Irina Farion's murder appeared on the Telegram channel of the neo-Nazi movement NS/WP (National-Socialism/White Power). The video shows a ten-second fragment where female screams can be heard.

The media compared the video with footage from the scene of Farion's death and found matching cars.

The video also shows a manifesto from an “autonomous revolutionary racist” who claimed responsibility for the murder.

The author motivated Farion's murder by the fact that the former MP was inciting hatred based on language within Ukrainian society. At the same time, the author supported the Armed Forces of Ukraine and stated that he was fighting “internal enemy”. “I can't help but talk about the military separately. First of all, I want to thank all the soldiers for defending Ukraine. I'm not going to interfere with you, but on the contrary, I'm trying for your benefit. While you're fighting an external enemy, I'm fighting an internal one,” – it is said in the manifesto.

Apparently, this is a reference to the fact that Farion criticized the Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers who speak Russian. Namely, those from “Azov”, who are now fighting in the 3rd Assault Brigade.

In April of this year, the FSB announced that it had prevented NS/WP terrorist attacks in military registration and enlistment offices and police departments in the Russian Federation. And in the summer of 2023, the FSB accused NS/WP members of preparing assassination attempts on journalists Solovyov and Simonyan. It should be noted that the Russian authorities called this organization “pro-Ukrainian”. It was stated that one of its leaders, Roman Zheleznov, left Russia for Ukraine before the start of the full-scale war and joined the regiment. “Azov”.

Zheleznov was arrested in absentia in Russia in January 2024 for the attempted murder of Solovyov.
