38-year-old Iranian arrested for selling crystal meth in Victoria Square


Police officers from the Athens Police Department's Patrol Security Unit arrested a 38-year-old foreigner yesterday, Tuesday (23/07), who was dealing in crystal meth in Victoria Square.

According to local media, he is an Iranian citizen who was recently released from prison. The arrest followed intelligence gathering as part of the deployment of forces in Victoria Square, as well as targeted patrols, surveillance and screening of users who were gathering in the said square to supply crystal meth.

Having identified the suspected drug dealer and confirmed his methamphetamine dealing activities, security officers began a physical search of him, during which they discovered two homemade bags of crystal methamphetamine. In total, as a result of the search of his home, among other things, the following were discovered and seized:

  • 95.8 grams of crystal meth
  • 47 pills of drugs
  • precision scales
  • air gun;
  • 635 euro.

A man with a case file filed by the Agios Panteleimonos Security Department for violating the drug and weapons laws was brought before the prosecutor of the Athens Municipal Court.
