Clearchos Marousakis warns of thunderstorms and hail in areas where storms will hit as the weather changes across half the country.

The meteorologist warns on his Facebook page that the weather will change in the coming days in at least half of the country. Storms will be observed, accompanied by hail and lots of lightning.

Thunderstorms will hit central and northern Greece and the interior of the Peloponnese over the next few days, with temperatures cooling slightly in the north while the rest of the country remains hot.

Very high temperatures (maximum values ​​above 40°C) will remain in our country until Sunday (21-07-2024). From the beginning of next week, there will be a slight decrease in both maximum and minimum temperatures in most areas of the country, and only locally, in the central and southern continental regions, will high values ​​remain.

It is noted that:

• in coastal areas of the continent, the maximum temperature will be 2-4 degrees lower than inland;
• Minimum temperatures will also remain high, ranging from 29 to 30°C in most urban areas.

In details:

1. IN Friday (19-07-2024) the maximum temperature is predicted to reach:
   1. In the north of the continent 38-39°C, in the rest of the continent 40-42°C.
   2. in the Ionian Islands, the eastern Aegean Islands, the Dodecanese and southern Crete 37-40°C.
   3. in the rest of the island country 35-37°C.
   4. in Attica and the prefecture of Thessaloniki from 38 to 39°C.
      There will be isolated thunderstorms in the northern part of the country on Friday afternoon and mainly in the afternoon.
2. IN Saturday (20-07-2024) from midday in the northern part of the country there will be isolated thunderstorms, and the air temperature is expected at the level of:
   1. On the northern continent 37-39°C, on the rest of the continent 40°C and in places on the western continent 41°C.
   2. in the Ionian Islands, the eastern Aegean Islands, the Dodecanese and southern Crete 38-40°C.
   3. in the rest of the island country 34-36°C.
   4. In Attica 39°C and possibly 40°C, in the prefecture of Thessaloniki 38-39°C.
3. IN Sunday (21-07-2024) the maximum temperature on the mainland will be from 37 to 39°C, and in the central and southern regions from 40 to 41°C.
