According to Meteo, this year, Greeks experienced the warmest June in decades.
June 2024 was the warmest month on record for Greece, according to preliminary meteorological data analysed by the meteo.gr/EAA scientific team. It was characterized by long periods of high temperatures over multiple days, significantly higher than normal for the season, throughout the country. The previous record has been raised by 2°C.

June 2024 has been recorded as the warmest ever on record for Greece, exceeding the 1991-2020 average (black dotted line) by +3.8°C and the previously warmest June of 2012 by +2°C. As for the average temperature trend in Greece from 1960 to 2024, June of this year has shown an increase of 2.5°C.
