V.Orban's visit to Moscow: “We are one step closer to peace”

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban is in Moscow to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin, a meeting that is causing backlash in the European Union and NATO.

Hungary, which holds the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union for the next six months, has come under criticism from EU for his attitude towards Russia. Orban visited Ukraine on June 2 as the leader of the country holding the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union and proposed a ceasefire to President Zelensky, which was rejected. Orban said he represented the European continent and that peace was in its interests, but could only be achieved through negotiations with Russia.

The European Commission and candidate for the post of head of European diplomacy Kaja Kalas sharply criticized Orban's visit to Russia, saying it undermines EU unity.

In Moscow, Viktor Orban does not represent the EU or EU positions in any way. He uses the EU presidency to sow discord. The EU is united, clearly stands for Ukraine and against Russian aggression.

At the same time, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg emphasized that Orban does not represent NATO in Russia, but acts as the Prime Minister of Hungary.

Orban does not represent NATO in Moscow, but only his own country – Stoltenberg/ The hysteria surrounding Orban's visit is rather strange, what are they afraid of? Peace?
