Ikaria is ranked seventh in the list of the top 10 most affordable destinations on the planet, with the magazine noting that “the Greek island of Ikaria seduces with turquoise waters and pristine nature, as well as an independent spirit and festival culture.

Named after Icarus, who is said to have crashed here after flying too close to the sun, Ikaria is also revered as the birthplace of Dionysus, the god of wine.
