NATO's reaction to the North Korea-Russia pact (video)

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg commented on the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement between Russia and North Korea.

He noted that the DPRK provided the Russian Federation with a “huge amount of ammunition” and said that against the backdrop of unification of authoritarian regimes, democratic countries must demonstrate unity, writes on Thursday June 20 Reuters.

Agreement between Russia and North Koreanoted the secretary general of the alliance, signed by Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un, demonstrates increasing consistency between authoritarian regimes:

“We have to realize that authoritarian states are increasingly united. They support each other in a way that we have never seen before. While they are increasingly united – authoritarian regimes like North Korea, China, Iran, Russia – It's more important that we be united as countries that believe in freedom and democracy.”

According to Stoltenberg, deepening contacts between the Russian Federation and other Asian countries means that cooperation with allies in the Asia-Pacific region is becoming increasingly important for NATO.
