Lidl continues its initiative to permanently reduce prices on more than 80 products


With a sense of responsibility towards consumers and with the aim of offering truly low prices that will benefit the family budget, Lidl Hellas is expanding the Ministry of Development's “Continuous Price Reduction” initiative.

The company's management decided to extend the specific measure beyond the six months set by the government, listening to the difficulties of consumers, offering for one and all products of excellent quality at consistently low prices.

“We are moving forward with important additional initiatives beyond what the state is offering. We continue to fully support the Family Basket program and expand the Ministry of Development's “Continuous Price Reduction” initiative for both branded and private label products, actively contributing to the fight against inflation,” said Martin Brandenburger, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors. Lidl in Greece, speaking at a conference as part of the company's 25th anniversary celebrations in Greece.

The extension of the measure includes a price reduction of at least 5% on at least 80 products, both branded and private label, so that consumers do not have to compromise on their weekly purchases.

From May 2023 until the entry into force of the initiative of the Ministry of Development “Permanent price reduction”, the company Lidl Ελλάς carried out price reductions, offering more than 330 products with constantly low prices down to minus 37%.

In addition, according to studies conducted internally and on a regular basis on more than 200 basic products, it turned out that Lidl in Greece is at least 10% cheaper than other supermarkets.
