Incident on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border, 32 Ukrainian citizens were detained

In Transcarpathia, a GAZ-66 truck broke through the state border with Hungary on Sunday, June 9. The incident occurred at the Kosino and Bolshaya Bygan area.

How reports UP publication, citing the speaker of the State Border Service of Ukraine, Colonel Andrey Demchenko, video cameras recorded that the truck was moving from the field road through the field towards the border. The car was later found on the Hungarian side, without passengers. Even later, the Hungarian side announced the detention of 32 people. Demchenko provided the following information:

“All the necessary checks are currently being carried out regarding the illegal crossing of the border by a group of people using a vehicle at the Mukachevo detachment site. The movement of the truck towards the border through the field was recorded using technical means of monitoring the area. The response team discovered traces of the car towards the neighboring country.

Subsequently, the adjacent party reported that they had discovered a vehicle and detained 32 Ukrainian citizens. In addition, Ukrainian border guards detained several people who may be involved in the illegal movement of these persons across the border. Filtration and inspection measures are carried out with them.

As we see, illegal elements do not give up attempts to illegally move persons across the border. But the violators themselves use the services of organized criminal groups who promise them assistance for considerable sums of money.”

Demchenko clarified that during the inspection it was not established that the car belonged to military formations. So far, the Hungarian side has not handed over the detained citizens to Ukraine.
