During an inspection of a gas station located in the Gerakas area, it was discovered that diesel fuel was 95% diluted with petroleum products for marine vessels.

Customs auditors of the Independent State Revenue Administration gas station sealed for two years, which was a record punishment for Greek data. The inspectors pasted notices on the gas station windows with the text: “Closed due to adulteration of fuel.”

In particular, after using information received by the competent authorities about violations taking place at a certain gas station, a special group carried out sampling. The samples were tested by AADE Chemical Services and the diesel sample was found to be 95% adulterated.

It should be noted that in During the inspection, gas station employees interfered with the work of the inspectors, taking them away from their work and rejecting some of the samples taken from working pumps, and also did not allow the remaining dispensers to be sealed petroleum products.

After confirming that the fuel was adulterated, on 9/06 the competent inspectors carried out the relevant order of the authorities, arriving at the gas station, accompanied by an armed group of police officers of nine people, and began sealing/closing the enterprise.

Diesel fuel and marine fuel (πετρέλαιο ναυτιλίας) differ in several respects:

1. Diesel:
• It is a liquid fuel specifically designed for use in diesel engines.
• It is obtained from certain fractions of petroleum that are less volatile than those used in gasoline.

• It has good self-ignition properties and is mainly used for vehicles such as trucks and some cars.

2. Fuel for marine vessels:
• It is any liquid fuel derived from petroleum intended for use on ships.

• Includes heavy oil fractions such as fuel oil.

• Used to power marine engines and generate electricity on ships.
