The Peace Summit in Switzerland will take place on June 15-16. The day before, White House National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby said that participation at the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland, the vice president rather than the president does not detract from the level of US support for Ukraine.

Earlier, the White House announced that Vice President Harris and National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan would represent the United States at the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland. Media reported that Biden had campaign events planned in California for mid-June, so neither he nor Vice President Kamala Harris would be able to attend the conference in Switzerland. 107 countries and organizations have already confirmed their participation in the Global Peace Summit.
