For the first time since 1919, French blood irrigates the plains of Ukraine: a French soldier lies dead in a field

For the first time since the Kherson campaign of 1919, the French were killed on the Ukrainian plains. Then together with Greek expeditionary force, sent by Venizelos, they suffered a humiliating defeat from the then Soviet Russia. It should be noted that the French were among the first to arrive in the country.

As Athens News previously reported, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Alexander Sirsky said that he had signed the necessary documents for the arrival of the first French “instructors” in Ukrainian camps, that is, the full deployment of French regular troops for the first time since the beginning of the war.

Until today, they allegedly sent mercenaries from Foreign Legion. This decision was made after agreement with French Defense Minister Sebastian Le Corneau.

Russia's reaction was as follows: “They will not even return the bodies of French soldiers to their families, they will not arrest French prisoners, as they did with the Germans in World War II,” hinting at the destruction of the French Legionnaires of the SS Division Charlemagne.

The Russian military will destroy all French soldiers who come to Ukrainian territory, threatened Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Pyotr Tolstoy. “We will kill all French soldiers who come to the territory of Ukraine. All of them”, he said on air on the BFMTV channel. The Russian legislator also stated that “147 of the 367 French mercenaries who arrived earlier in Ukraine have already been destroyed.”

The last time French President Macron raised the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine, the Russians “devastated” the French by bombing the housing in which they were staying. In particular, a Russian missile destroyed one of the hotels where Western military personnel were staying in the Dnieper region. The casualties were significant, but the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense never confirmed this news.
