A swarm of bees attacked the passengers of the car – two were seriously injured


Two people were injured when bees attacked a passing car in Mandamados, Mytilene.

A swarm of bees attacked on Tuesday morning (May 28), leaving people suffering from stinging insects. According to stonisi.gr, the incident occurred at the Aspropotamos intersection in the Mandamado district.

According to information, bees attacked a pickup truck driving through agricultural land with open windows. According to preliminary information, the people inside the car were pilgrims and were heading towards Ι. M. των Ταξιαρχών. There were five people in the car: three adults and two children.

The passengers injured by the bees began to scream. The driver immediately called doctors and also called the police. 2 EKAB ambulances, a doctor from the Mandamados clinic and patrol cars with police officers immediately arrived at the scene. The victims were taken to Mytilene hospital.

Experts from the Lesbos beekeeping cooperative were also called to the area and responded immediately to help deal with the swarm of insects.
