“Summer will end” on Thursday, when meteorologists predict northwest winds will pick up, ushering in a weekend of unsettled weather, colder temperatures and showers.
“On Wednesday 22 May, temperatures are expected to rise in Thessaly, Boeotia, the eastern/south-eastern Peloponnese, Crete and the eastern/south-eastern Aegean. The heat wave will be limited there from Thursday. African dust will recede,” said Clearhos Marousakis.
The meteorologist said that the unstable weather front is emerging primarily in the north/northeast of Greece, and over the weekend we will see a “cold lake” (“ψυχρή λίμνη”), as the phenomenon is referred to in meteorology. Further bad weather and a decrease in air temperature will spread throughout Greece.
Over the weekend, the main feature of the weather will be instability, that is, showers and storms are expected, especially on the mainland of our country. Temperatures will approach more normal levels for the season.
