Vladimir Zelensky awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine to ex-commander-in-chief Valeriy Zaluzhny and Kirill Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine.
This is reported by decrees posted on the official website of the President of Ukraine 57 And 61:
“For outstanding personal merits in protecting the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, selfless service to the Ukrainian people, I decree: to confer the title Hero of Ukraine with the award of the Order of the Golden Star to General Valery Fedorovich Zaluzhny.
…For personal courage and heroism shown in defending the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, selfless service to the Ukrainian people, I decree: to confer the title Hero of Ukraine with the award of the Order of the Golden Star to Kirill Alekseevich Budanov, Lieutenant General.”
Previously, our publication reported that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky met with Commander-in-Chief Valery Zaluzhny. The discussion was about updating the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including changing the commander-in-chief. Zelensky appointed Colonel General Alexander Syrsky, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
