Agricultural producers threw their crops directly onto the asphalt in the center of Thessaloniki

Thessalian farmers scattered chestnuts and apples at the entrance to the ΔΕΘ exhibition center, symbolically wanting to show that their products have no value (their labor is devalued by the authorities).

As you know, a large rally of farmers is taking place in Thessaloniki as part of the 30th Agrotica exhibition. The farmers arrived in the city to join their colleagues from northern Greece, who have been near ΔΕΘ with their tractors for several days and say they will only leave when the exhibition is over.

Farmers from Thessaly, Grevena, Kastoria, Naoussa and other regions gathered in Thessaloniki to take part in a large-scale rally to protest against the problems faced by agricultural workers.

The president of the United Federation of Agricultural Associations, Larisa Rizos Maroudas, called the prime minister’s statements “mere crumbs (a handout)”, adding that a meeting of heads of farms from all over Greece will take place next Tuesday. Activists intend to plan future rallies to defend the rights of agricultural workers.
