Why did the notorious mafioso Aldo Barre, who played ball with the skulls of his enemies, put a reward of 1 million euros on the head of his enemy Laertes Hatzius, who is now sitting in a Greek prison.
The compatriot of the famous Albanian bandit, who killed several dozen people, is called Laertes Hatziu (he is also called the Albanian Passaris – by analogy with the famous Greek gangster Kostas Passaris) at the time of publication of the article he is sitting in Korydallos prison.

Aldo Barre himself is currently serving a double life sentence in Albanian prisons for committing massacres in the city of Lusnia in 1997. Laertes Hatziou has officially stated to the Greek judicial authorities that Aldo Barre is paying a large sum to kill him and does not hesitate to mention that there is a feud between them that is dripping with bullets, blood and undying hatred.

Laertes was captured on 5/22/2023 in the Eleusa area of Ioannina. It all started when the police gave a signal to the driver of the car to stop, but he did not listen, but on the contrary, pressed the gas. During the chase, the car crashed into three cars, got stuck at a traffic light and eventually came to a stop after hitting a curb, causing a tire to blow out and the airbags to deploy. Officers then arrested the driver and two other passengers, including a 32-year-old passenger.
Arrest of Aldo Barre
Barre was arrested in March 2006 in Ankara (Turkey) and extradited to Albania in November 2009. He has been on the run for more than ten years and is accused of committing several crimes. Prosecutors from the Serious Crimes Bureau in Tirana charged him with five murders, organizing a criminal organization, destruction of property (bombs), desecration of graves and international drug trafficking. His gang was thirsty for revenge and in 1997 began to instill fear and terror in Lusnia. In 1997, he was even accused of beheading one of his rivals, Arthur Dudge, and “marching” through the city with his head while he played catch with the heads of other enemies! That year, Albania was struck by an economic crisis, which was facilitated by the collapse of several “financial pyramids”, which led to the loss of savings of a huge mass of the population. People accused the country’s leadership of participating in financial fraud. The attacks on weapons depots brought the country to the brink of civil war and chaos, allowing criminals like Aldo Barre to operate with near impunity.
Killings of police officers, intelligence agents and the deputy mayor
His gang is also accused of ordering the murder of local police officer Claydie Bano in 2001 and of a series of bombings at the homes of several police investigators who were looking into his criminal activities. Aldo Barre is also accused of killing a Secret Service agent in 1998 and killing Deputy Mayor Drago Vostim the same year. His main accomplices have been arrested in Albania and Italy in recent years and given long prison sentences. But after his latest revelations in the media about the “order” for the murder of Laertes Hatzius, the blood cycle does not seem to be closed. And although Laertes Hatzius is in… the safe environment of Korydallos prison under 24-hour surveillance by prison guards, everyone understands that with such a sum of money to eliminate him, Hatzius’ chances are negligible.
