A project that will transform Western Attica

A large-scale complex real estate construction project that will transform the whole of Western Attica is being carried out by the Church of Greece in the area of Schistos.

However, despite the expressed will to implement the project, the information indicates that there are differences of opinion regarding cooperation with ΤΑΙΠΕΔ, which, thanks to its experience and know-how, will take over the finalization of the plan.

Circles close to the Church, aware of the case, note that indeed there is disagreement on certain terms of the agreement with the fund, emphasizing that legal services are working to find the best possible solution. They make it clear that cancellation or freezing of the investment is out of the question and are optimistic about the solution of the problem that arose with the fund during the negotiations.

However, it must be admitted that the work schedule has been pushed back, as the contract was to be signed in March, And now it’s already June.

On the other hand, ΤΑΙΠΕΔ sources emphasize that there are no questions from the fund regarding the signing of the contract, except for the legal compensation that the fund should receive. And what, as they hasten to emphasize, is provided for by law.

The choice of ΤΑΙΠΕΔ as a technical consultant was not accidental, but conscious, as the Church believes that she will help her with her vast experience in developing complex projects. Archbishop Jerome of Athens and All Greece, speaking recently of the ΕΚΥΟ agreement with ΤΑΙΠΕΔ on the Schistos project, said that “a new chapter is beginning in the relationship of church and state with ambitious goals, but also with tangible results in the daily lives of citizens.” He emphasized that the project will “strengthen our country, benefit our people, strengthen the local community and our national economy, leave a green footprint for future generations…”.

The investment, characteristically named “The Green Σχιστό”, covers the development of a 3,200-acre area in the Schistos-Skaramagmas area. In particular, this is the construction of a modern logistics center, residential and office complexes, as well as the creation of an ecological park (85% of the territory will be covered with greenery). The plan includes landscaping work – the creation of an ecological park with an area of 700,000 sq.m. to which the public will have free access. The project will be funded by the Greek Church’s own resources and is expected to be completed in about four years.
