Impressive spectacle of amusing missile battles on Chios

Despite the protests of local residents and insistent requests to “abolish” the custom of rocket wars, the tradition was nevertheless observed.

Impressive and moderate was the amusing rocket battle this year between the parishes of Agios Markos and Panagia Eritiani in Chios.

According to politischios.gr, the representatives of the two parishes seem to have respected residents’ protests. The number of missiles was such that, on the one hand, the custom was impressive, but on the other hand, it did not create problems for the safety of the spectatorsbelievers who gathered near churches to celebrate Easter.

Order and security could be felt even a few meters from the missile launch points. The police, fire brigade, EKAV and volunteers reportedly cooperated excellently, resulting in traffic around the two parishes running smoothly throughout the duration of the custom.
