Lukashenka on LGBT representatives in government and assessment of their work

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko expressed his attitude towards gays and lesbians, showing loyalty to the latter.

The head of the republic drew attention to the fact that in Belarus, including in the authorities, there are representatives of LGBT people, and their work is of particular quality, quotes BB.LV:

“God forbid non-gays work the way gays work. There was not a single negative feature. Not a single one, I checked in different directions.

At the same time, the Belarusian president stressed that he considers gays to be perverts and “the last abomination”, but he treats lesbians with greater loyalty:

“Girls, I, as a president, forgive. I take this blame on myself, on the peasants. So we overlooked. It means that we have failed in something.”

However, he added that there should be no propaganda of such “nasty relations” in society. Twelve years ago, in 2011, Lukashenka said that he would not ban gay parades, as the Russian authorities do. He allowed them to be held on the outskirts of the city “to the surprise of people” and said that he would gladly send gays to state farms.
