Paying taxes: a calendar for citizens

In a few days, the annual notification of taxpayers for the payment of the 1st installment of income tax, which will be asked to pay three out of every ten who file a tax return, begins.

The number of tax returns filed has increased, and today almost 2 million taxpayers must meet their obligations.

This year, the state prefers to receive taxes in installments. Thus, income tax will be divided into 8 parts: the first installment must be paid before July 29, and the last one at the end of February 2023.

According to ENFIA, its repayment has already begun, taxpayers have paid almost half of the tax, while the third installment of ten is scheduled for the end of the month, and the last on February 28.

The tax calendar ends with the beginning of the repayment of the debt on the refundable advance. The first one will be paid at the end of the month, and the last one on June 30, 2030, i.e. in 96 installments. Of course, there is the possibility of a one-time payment until July 29, with a 15% bonus on the entire debt.

But let’s look at the possibilities of how taxpayers should pay off their debts – in multiples or at discounts. The installments for the three obligations start at 8 and go up to 96. Discounts start from 3% and 15% for those who repay the sums at once. Taxpayers also have the following options:

  1. Pay in 12 interest-free installments with a credit card.
  2. Repayment in 24 interest payments under a fixed scheme.

Payment calendar details

The payment calendar, depending on the tax category, is built as follows:

ENFIA: The third payment is due by July 29, 2022. The last installment of ENFIA is due at the end of February 2023, and those who have difficulty paying property taxes have the option to include the debt in a permanent agreement of up to 24 monthly payments, which, however, are subject to an annual interest rate in around 5%. Of course, there is also the 12-time interest-free installment solution offered by credit card banks. There is no discount for a one-time payment.. A total of 6.3 million property owners were asked to pay an amount of 2.25 billion euros. It is estimated that more than 1 billion euros has already entered the state treasury from this year’s ENFIA, as 800 million euros were paid in the first installment.

Income tax: The individual tax resulting from the calculation of this year’s tax returns can be paid in eight equal monthly installments: the first must be paid until July 29, 2022., and the last one – until February 28, 2023. Those who decide to pay tax income in a lump sum until July 29, 2022 will be provided 3% discount on the total amount. And for income tax, it is possible to include it in a fixed order of 24 payments or repayment in 12 interest-free monthly payments from a credit card.

Refundable advance: At the end of the month, the repayment of the refundable advance begins. The amounts received can be repaid in 96 interest-free monthly installments. Those of the 700,000 businesses and professionals that decide to pay off the debt in a lump sum before July 29 will receive a 15 percent discount on the total amount.
