How much will heating oil cost this year?

Today's data suggests heating oil prices in urban centers such as Athens and Thessaloniki could reach €1.10 per liter, similar to pre-coronavirus levels.

In the Cyclades islands, where transport costs are average, the price of heating oil can reach 1.26 euros per liter. However, according to a Free Press report, the cost could be below €1.26 per liter on some islands and above €1.30 per liter on others.

Shortly before the second lockdown, in October 2020, heating oil prices fell sharply, reaching €0.776 per liter in Athens and Thessaloniki. Competent market participants emphasize that estimates for this year are based on current data, including current prices and geopolitical conditions.

However, refineries will play a key role in determining the price of fuel oil, and this will happen just a few hours before sales begin on October 15, 2024. It is possible that large energy groups will provide discounts to oil trading companies, as has happened in the past.
