Dogs of the Tsitsipas family again found themselves at the center of a serious incident: on the morning of September 17 in Vari two large shepherd dogs attacked three people at once. This is at least the third widely reported case in recent years.

The incident took place in the Vari area. According to ProtoThema And Pronewstwo shepherd dogs associated with Stefanos Tsitsipas’ family first attacked a man, then his niece, and later another woman. The media indicate that the animals belong to a relative of the family.

Briefly about the main thing:
— two shepherd dogs of the Tsitsipas family attacked in Vari three people;
— one of the women received serious hand bites;
— another victim was taken to CAT;
— similar stories with the family’s dogs happened in 2023 and 2025;
— in 2023, a 13-year-old teenager was injured;
— in 2025, a dog attacked a 71-year-old man in Vouliagmeni.

“They grabbed me by the arm and threw me down”

One of the victims, Tina Casidocosta, said that her uncle called her in the morning and reported an attack by two dogs. The woman arrived at the scene and soon became their next victim.

According to her, one of the shepherd dogs ran towards her and grabbed my handafter which the second one ran up. The woman tried not to move, but the dogs knocked her to the ground. An employee of the municipal service for working with homeless animals came to the rescue and took the victim to the Vari medical center.

Kasidokosta herself stated that three people were attacked in total: she, her uncle and another woman, who, according to her, was taken to the KAT hospital. She also said that she had filed a police report.

But this is not the first time

The main thing in this story is not only today’s attack. Dogs associated with the Tsitsipas family have been involved in similar incidents on several occasions.

IN May 2025 in Vouliagmeni, a family’s dog attacked 71 year old man. The victim required medical attention and stitches. The man himself then publicly stated that this had already happened before.

That story separately discussed who exactly was with the dog at the time of the attack. Stefanos Tsitsipas’s mother, Yulia Salnikova, claimed that her twin sister was walking the animal, while an eyewitness stated the opposite. Thus, a public dispute arose around responsibility, but the fact of the attack and the fact that the dog belonged to the family was not disputed.

In 2023, a 13-year-old child was injured

Two years earlier, in May 2023the dog of the Tsitsipas family attacked in Vouliagmeni 13 year old teenagerwho was returning home.

According to police and publications at the time, a large shepherd dog jumped over the fence of the house and attacked the child. The teenager was taken to a medical center with bites on his arms and legs. During the investigation, it was established that the owner of the animal is a member of the family of Stefanos Tsitsipas.

2023, 2025, 2026 – the same question

Therefore, the current case cannot be considered as a completely isolated incident. In just a few years, at least three serious episodesrelated to the dogs of the Tsitsipas family.

  • 2023 — assault on a 13-year-old teenager;
  • 2025 – attack on a 71-year-old man;
  • 2026 – attack on three people at once in Vari.

It has not been established that in all three cases we are talking about the same specific animals. However, these stories have one thing in common: each time we are talking about dogs associated with the same family, and each new episode again raises the question of why, after previous attacks, it was not possible to prevent the repetition of such situations.

Responsibility is not on the dog

It is significant that one of today’s victims did not blame the animals themselves after the attack. According to her, the problem is irresponsibility of people who are obliged to control dogs.

This is especially important when dealing with large shepherds that can cause serious injury. In this case, control measures should exclude the very possibility that the animal will end up on the street without proper supervision or may attack a random passerby.

Editor’s comment: the first such case can be considered an unfortunate coincidence. After the second, questions naturally arise. But when stories about the same family’s dogs appear again and again – in 2023, 2025 and now in 2026 – we are talking about a systemic problem of control. Each time a new victim appears, the story causes a scandal, then disappears from the agenda – until the next attack. And the main question here is not for the dogs: what measures were taken after previous episodes and why they could not prevent a new one?
