Inquiry into the death of Giorgos Mazonakis continues to expand: the investigation is studying his last hours, things from the sealed house in Voula, activities of doctors and now – even the question of what kind of powers did the education of one of the accused give?
New details appeared on September 17. According to Pronewsafter the singer’s death his house in Voula was sealed and searched in the presence of a prosecutorso the family could not freely take his personal clothes for the funeral. This is what forced us to reconsider the previously widespread story that Mazonakis was allegedly buried in monastic vestments.
– Mazonakis’s house in Voula was sealed and searched;
– the family did not have free access to his belongings before the funeral;
— the investigation is examining the clothes the singer wore during his last hours;
— two doctors are in custody and deny the charges;
— Quantum University stated that does not issue licenses to practice medicine;
— at the same time, the finances of doctors, equipment and activities of the clinic are checked.
Clothes of the last few hours became part of the investigation
In the photograph taken around 14:45Mazonakis is in a plasmapheresis chair with catheters in both hands, wearing dark trousers and under a blanket. When the ΕΚΑΒ brigade later arrived, he was already in a T-shirt and underwear, according to published materials; The trousers were in a plastic bag, and investigators are trying to find the blanket visible in the photograph. The call to ΕΚΑΒ was registered in 16:23.
Quantum University: “We do not issue medical licenses”
An even more serious question arose around the education of the 56-year-old accused doctor. In response to Live News Quantum University stated that it is an educational institution and does not provide graduates with autonomy to practice medicine or perform regulated clinical procedures. According to the university, each graduate is required to independently obtain all necessary professional licenses, registrations and certificates in the country where they work. That in itself is a statement. does not prove that the doctor does not have a Greek license. It only means that a diploma or training at Quantum University could not in itself give such a right. Now the key question is what licenses and professional credentials the doctor had in Greece and on what basis the plasmapheresis procedures were carried out.
The check has already gone far beyond the boundaries of one office
The investigation involves more than just the circumstances of Mazonakis’ death. AADE audits the medical device market, including importers, doctors and clinicsand the Anti-Money Laundering Office is looking into the financial transactions of the two accused. The mere fact of these checks does not mean that a financial crime has been established.
Two doctors are in custody and accused of premeditated murder with indirect intent by omission. They deny the charges, and there is a presumption of innocence until the court’s decision.
