Athens: Three Blue Line metro stations will close as early as 21:40

On the blue line of the Athens metro for several evenings in a row, stations “Eleonas”, “Keramikos” and “Monastiraki” will close as early as 9:40 p.m., about two and a half hours earlier than usual.

Restrictions apply September 16–17and then again from 20 to 24 September. The reason is the replacement of rails on the Eleonas – Monastiraki section, reports STASY.

After 21:40 Line 3 will actually be divided into two sections: trains will continue to travel between “Dimotico Teatro – Egaleo” And “Syntagma – Doukissis Plakentias – Airport”. It will be impossible to pass the metro directly through the closed section in the evening.

OASA launches temporary bus for passengers X24 “Syntagma metro station – Egaleo metro station”which should replace the closed area.

The last trains before the closure will depart, in particular, from Eleonas towards Doukissis Plakentias in 21:22from “Keramikos” – to 21:25from “Monastiraki” – to 21:27. In the opposite direction, the last train from Syntagma to Dimotiko Teatro will leave at 21:49. The full schedule has been published on official page of line 3 STASY.

Passengers traveling late in the evening to the airport or from Piraeus via the center should plan transfers especially carefully: after the closure of three stations, the direct through route through the center is temporarily interrupted.
