Cash in Greece: ATMs, withdrawals and deposits into a bank account

From August 2025, cash withdrawals from ATMs of Greek banks have become significantly cheaper: bank commissions for such domestic transactions have been abolished, and a ceiling of €1.50 has been established for independent ATMs, however, tourists and foreign card holders can still lose a significant amount on their bank’s commissionDCC conversion, third party ATM or unfavorable exchange rate.
