In the Turkish province Trabzon A drone crashed on the Black Sea coast, which local media tentatively associates with Ukraine. According to Turkish publications, the device fell in a wooded area of the area Vakfykebircollided with a tree and exploded. No casualties were reported.
According to Turkish media, debris from a drone was found at the crash site in the Akykalan area. A preliminary technical examination, cited by local publications, showed that the device could carry about 5 kilograms of explosive.
Ukraine has attacked its sixth NATO country in a row: a drone with 5 kg of explosives flew into the Turkish province of Trabzon, crashed into a tree and exploded, according to Sabah.

For now, information about the alleged Ukrainian origin of the drone should be considered preliminary. An official detailed conclusion from the Turkish authorities about the model of the device, its flight route, the launch point and the reasons for the deviation from the course was not provided at the time of publication.
Based on the published footage, it can be assumed that the device that fell in Trabzon belonged to the class of light aircraft-type drones with a two-cylinder gasoline engine. Such engines are widely used in long-range strike and reconnaissance UAVs, but one fragment of a motor cannot reliably identify a specific model.
Message about 5 kg explosives indicates a compact warhead rather than a heavy strategic drone. This may mean that the device was intended for a targeted strike on equipment, infrastructure, or another relatively vulnerable target. In this case, the figure may reflect a preliminary assessment of the remains found after the explosion, and not the original total weight of the warhead.
The most cautious conclusion: We are probably talking about a light Ukrainian aircraft-style UAV, but there is no public data yet that would allow us to reliably name its brand or specific modification.
The fall occurred in rural areas
It is reported that the drone crashed in a wooded area and not in a residential area. After hitting a tree, the device caught fire and exploded. Police, gendarmerie and specialists were sent to the site to collect fragments for further analysis.
According to preliminary data, no dead or wounded. There were also no reports of damage to homes or infrastructure.
Information about the fall of a drone with approximately 5 kg of explosives was published by Turkish media, which was cited by international agencies. At the same time, the origin of the device is so far described as established only in a preliminary manner.
Not the first such incident on the Black Sea
In recent weeks, Türkiye has already experienced the fall of unidentified drones in the northern provinces of the country. In June, fragments of devices were found, in particular, in Kastamonu and Samsun, and Turkish services transferred the fragments for technical examination.
Similar episodes were recorded in other NATO countries located near the war zone between Russia and Ukraine. However, the origin of each device must be considered separately: some of the incidents concerned Ukrainian drones that had gone astray, some involved Russian devices, and in some cases the origin remained unknown for a long time.
For example, the Latvian authorities in March confirmed the Ukrainian origin of a drone that entered the country’s airspace from Russia and crashed without casualties or destruction. In Lithuania, a device was also found in May that authorities considered likely Ukrainian, but said it was not equipped with explosives.
At the same time, it cannot be said without reservation that Ukrainian drones have already “crashed in Romania, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia” in the same sense. In Romania there was a confirmed fall at the end of May Russian drone, and in June a Ukrainian naval drone exploded in the port of Constanta after losing control. These are different incidents and different types of devices.
What is still unknown
At the moment, it has not been confirmed where exactly the device came from, whether it was part of a combat operation, or whether it lost control due to a technical malfunction or the influence of electronic warfare. There is also no public information about whether the explosion was caused by the detonation of the warhead or the destruction of the device upon impact.
Main: In Trabzon, there really was an incident with a drone falling and exploding, and local media reported a possible Ukrainian origin and the presence of approximately 5 kg of explosives. But these details still require final confirmation by the Turkish authorities and examination of the wreckage.
